Yars: Recharged Co-op Review

Atari and AdamVision Studios have spent the last few years producing modern “Recharged” versions of classic Atari games. Yars: Recharged is a new but faithful sequel to Yars’ Revenge, the Atari 2600 shoot ‘em up from 1982. This one casts one or two local players as the insect-like Yars who must shoot and bite their way throu...

Gamers will have to wait a few more months for the highly anticipated sci-fi Roguelile.

ENDLESS Dungeon Gets a Non-Endless Delay, Will Now Arrive in October

We've been waiting a long time for ENDLESS Dungeon, the upcoming sci-fi Roguelike from Sega and Amplitude Studios. First announced back during the innocent days of the year 2020, ENDLESS Dungeon is a very promising mixture of third-person shooting, tower defense, and Roguelite mechanics. It will also feature 3-player online co-op, making it pretty much irresistible to connoisseurs like us. Alas, the game has now been delayed from May to October, so we'll have to make do just a bit longer.

The PC version of Stranger of Paradise is no longer Epic exclusive.

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin Is Finally Available on Steam

Last year,  Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin seemingly came out of nowhere to become something of a cult hit among discerning RPG fans. The premise is all you really need to know: a prequel to the first Final Fantasy, mixed with Dark Souls-style challenging combat and 3-player online co-op. Sounds amazing, doesn't it? Stranger of Paradise launched on Xbox, PlayStation, and Epic - but not Steam. Finally, the Epic store's timed exclusivity has expired, and PC gamers can buy the game on Steam.

Only a few months to go until the epic pixel-art action RPG adventure finally arrives!

Hammerwatch II Journeys to Consoles and PC This Summer

The Hammerwatch series started with Hammerwatch in 2012, a Gauntlet-style action RPG. Heroes of Hammerwatch followed, a super-challenging Roguelike version that I absolutely loved. Modus Games has been teasing the official Hammerwatch II for quite some time, and now the wait is nearly over. The new open-world action RPG sequel will arrive on consoles and PCs this summer, complete with 4-player online co-op.

The long-awaited 4-player shoot 'em up is almost here.

'Dogfight: A Sausage Bomber Story' Flies Onto Consoles and PC on April 13

We recently covered HEXAPODA, an insect-themed shoot 'em up with 4 player support that's coming "soon." Well, Dogfight: A Sausage Bomber Story will probably be beating that game to punch. First announced in June 2022, Dogfight is a horizontally-scrolling shooter with a sausage theme, plenty of color, 4-player local co-op. It's due out on all platforms on April 13.

The Free Co-op Update for Infernax Has Arrived on Consoles and PC!

Not long ago, Berzerk Studio and The Arcade Crew surprised us all by announcing that Infernax, the gorey, retro-style Metroidvania would be getting a new 2 player local co-op mode. Infernax launched as a single-player game - an amazingly solid one. Now the game is even better because the "Deux or Die" update has arrived. Two players can now team up to thwart or conquer the forces of evil in this challenging action platformer!

'King of the Arcade' Will Open Its Doors on Xbox on April 11

In today's high-tech, social media-infused world, older gamers don't just miss classic arcade games. We miss the arcades themselves. That nostalgia has resulted in last year's Arcade Paradise from Wired Productions, and now Super Villain Games (developer of Doug Hates His Job) is getting in on the action with King of the Arcade. This one features numerous clones of classic arcade games, several of which support 2-player local co-op.

We've played Sega's upcoming shooter/tower defense/Roguelike hybrid!

ENDLESS Dungeon Hands-on Preview and Video

Sega and French developer Amplitude Studios have been toiling away at ENDLESS Dungeon, their spiritual successor/reboot of the classic tower defense game Dungeon of the Endless, since 2020. The wait is almost over, thankfully, since ENDLESS Dungeon will be arriving on consoles and PC in May. With a game like this that mixes so many genres, it can be tough to know how it will actually play. We spent some time with it at a recent press event, so we'll try to explain how it all works.

Baron: Fur Is Gonna Fly Co-op Review

The party game genre mostly consists of digital board games, casual fighters, and minigame collections. You seldom see a dogfighting minigame, but that's what Australian developer Dogmelon has produced with Baron: Fur Is Gonna Fly. Baron is a 2D flying/party game in which up to 8 biplanes battle it out in various modes. While thi...
